What is GPR?
Ground Penetrating Radar or GPR for short is based on a principal called Electromagnetic Reflection (EMR). This is an impressive term but the theory of GPR is not complicated.
The GPR equipment sends very small pulses of energy into the survey area, such as concrete.

An engineering firm in Manchester was hired to assess a concrete slab to identify is there was any reinforcing steel in the concrete. They used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate and map the location of the rebar.
Why GPR is not X-Ray?
Although concrete scanning is commonly referred to as “X-Ray”, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is Not the same thing.
The two technologies are completely different. One technology uses electromagnetic reflection and another uses radiation exposure principals.
